Use USB Zip Drive to transfer 60 files?

Relating to some of the topics in the forum... I'm trying to find a way to convert wav files to SND (I have O.S. 3 for the 60).

The problem is that I can't get my laptop to read the MPC formatted Zip disk. Is there a piece of software that will do this?

I bought Chicken Sytems Translator...which didn't work for the 60 (they admitted as much) and now it won't start...and their support doesn't respond...

So is there an easy way to write to a usb zip disk formatted by the 60?

the best way i can think of since you have the OS is MPC Editor SW..

im not sure about the usb drive though..

Based on one of your previous posts I would say ...... MPC-EDITOR for PC.

Your laptop will not read a native formatted MPC60 SCSI disk.

The MPC-EDITOR for PC can create a single, safe and cross platform partition for file transfer purposes.

The search function will return "threads of use" that will be of assistance where moving files too and from an MPC60/MPC3000 is concerned.

This is very much appreciated.

I think I will follow your advice and get MPC Editor. My only hesitation until now is that I downloaded a demo a long time ago, which didn't work well (though my system was a little different)...I can't test the demo now as my option to do this is timed out...

But I think it's worth the money to try and find out...many people seem to have success with it.

I have just paid for and downloaded MPC Editor.

It worked like a dream... well, a slow dream, but nevertheless.

I can confirm that the MPC Editor Zip Disk format works (first partition is readable by both my MPC 60 & XP)...and that this is all possible using a USB Zip drive connected to the pc, and the usual SCSI drive connected to the MPC.

MPC 3000 snds take a LONG time to load into the 60, but it works!

The MPC60 has to convert the lineal 16bit MPC3000 sample data into it's non-linear 12bit format.

Once this process has been completed and you save the converted sounds to disk ...... reloading of same will be at the usual speed. ( conversion process already done ...... sounds now in native MPC60 format )
