mpc capacitor poles

I got an mpc3000 that doesn't work. I opened it and the first thing I noticed was the capacitors had oozed a bunch of white shit on the circuit board that's right above the power. It's the one with 3 fuses and the heat sink. Only the 3 largest ones on the board were like this, the black one and the two yellows, the other 6 smaller capacitors are fine.

So I removed them w/a soldering iron and I'm about to go get replacements (assuming you don't have to order from some far away land). However I noticed there's no indication as to where the poistive and negative go on the curcuit board. Now obviously I should have just written it down before I took it out but I didn't. Does anyone know which hole is positive and which is negative?

I'm sure this is a stupid question with a stupid answer and I'm ashamed to have to ask it but if anyone knows I'd sure appreciate it.

are you sure? when i replaced the power supply, they were like that brand new. that white stuff is some kind of 'glue'... did you test it in any way other than visual?

oh really? that sucks, I guess I should put them back.... Could you take a picture of yours and so I can tell how they're supposed to go? Where'd you get a replacement power supply?

no pictures will help you there pal... i hope the capacitors have the same values, otherwise you need help there buddy.


does the circuit board have the plus markings? you need to know the values and the polarity to get them back tight...

no a picture would help because the polarity is clearly indicated all along the side of the capacitor. so open up your 3000 take a picture and upload it already.
