Before I start I have to say I've read and re-read the manual, and I'm pretty convinced there's something more to my problem than my own stupidity.

Anyway, I recently swapped soundcards from a Terratec 24/96 to an RME Multiface, and it's great having 8 ins and better convertors, but I just can't get it to sync with my 60 using cubase sx3. I can use midi to trigger sounds on the mp, so it's not a simple cable issue.

I've set the mp to sync to midi in the sync menu, set the midi input (i've tried both ports) but I can't get it to be controlled by cubase. All of the drivers of my old card have been uninstalled and I'm sending midi data with the RME's midi so I'm really confused why it isn't syncing. I had no problem getting the old Terratec to do it, so I'm wondering if its perhaps an RME issue?

Anyway, it's driving me crazy and I'd love to hear any ideas anyone else may have! I don't want to have buy another midi interface but will if I have to.

Peace, and thanks for any ideas anyone may have!

Are you setting up Cubase so that it outputs either MIDI Time Code, or MIDI Beat Clock (depending on which form of MIDI sync you are trying to use) to the same port that is connected to the MPC60?

right, use MTC on the 60 make sure you choose the right midi output...if all else fails cut everything off and restart it...I ahd to do that to get mine right....RME Fireface and 60, very frustrating but it worked eventually

Yeah I'm using MTC for all midi. I'll try the turn on and off trick though. It's interesting that you had some fun with your RME. I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

All I know is it'll be heaven when it syncs, using the 8 outs and vsti's will be unbeatable!

Actually, on the syncing issue, has anyone used smpte to sync the 60?

Thanks for the tips on turning the RME off - I did that, pressed start and it didn't work so I walked away. I came back a minute later and it was synced! I pressed stop and start again and it's been rock solid ever since, so cheers for that.

The first track as a result is at www.myspace.com/kwalitytrax and is called "That Syncing Feeling", making using of the "One Love" acapella.

glad it worked man, your beats are pretty dope but that one love acapella is off beat, try sliding it forward or back some in cubase

Cheers man, I normally mute the accapellas when I mix my tracks down but I forgot this time! I must've been too happy to just have everything synced!
