Share your knowledge on these two classic MPCs

I finally landed an MPC3000 and i've got some questions.

-I want to connect the MP to RCA jacks on the speakers i'll be using (currently my dad's old JVC box). Are the jacks in the back of the MP 6.3 mm jacks? if so I'm assuming that i should be getting male RCA<=>6.3 mm cables. Yes?

-My MP came with an external SCSI zip100 drive. I plan on editing samples via PC. Is it wise to just get an external zip100 USB drive and just trade disks between the two drives as opposed to linking the PC to the SCSI zip? Also, what are the ports on the back of the SCSI zip100? the left is labeled "zip" and the right has what looks like a diamond "power" icon. Should i assume the left to connect to the MP and the right to connect to PC via required SCSI cable? vice versa?

-I've read about the problem relating to the MPC having trouble relating to a SCSI zip drive tagged by a PC. I've also read of two possible solutions to it.

1. Registry Code <click

2. MPC Editor<click

Is anyone using any of these solutions?

If so which would you say is easier/better, using the available code solutions or just buying the the USB zip100 and trading disks between that and the SCSI zip100?

Yes, RCA-6.5mm is what you want.

You should go for the USB Zip drive on the computer, SCSI Zip drive on the MPC.

Use a specific Zip disk(s) just for transfering files into the MPC. Keep the Zip disks that you save onto from the MPC away from the computer, only using them in the MPC. Only use the 'transfer' Zip disk(s) in the PC and MPC to transfer the files across, not for saving your work onto from the MPC for storage.

Thanks for responding!

You're saying that i should have designated transfer disk(s) and also to keep the disk i use to save my work on the MP away from the PC zip drive.I'm guessing this is due to the tagging. I'm lost though, as to how i'll be able to convert my completed work to mp3 or whatever other format of my choosing if the disk with the saved work from the MP shouldn't go into the PC's zip drive.

am i missing something?

regarding the transfer disk. what has to be special about it? format in the pc?
