Could I get a little help here!

I was sampling from my Turntable thru my Rane Mixer to the Analog Record input on my MPC. The MPC is was set on hi gain. The problem just appeared. However, I had the MPC on for a few days because I had been chopping up drums break on the it. I've left my Mpc on a Few days at a time with no problem before. Now when I enter in the sample screen, I get strong distortion sound almost like white noise. What's the Diagnosis?

did you try changing the gain level? I'm pretty sure you would, I never sample on high

just me but i wouldnt leave a 20 yr old machine on for days at a time... dont think the newer mpcs got input gain control either though...

Yup, I think low is the only usable gain setting for sampling from a turntable/dj mixer on both the 60 and 3000. That being said, strong distortion with nothing even playing through rec in probably does indicate a problem somewhere in your signal chain. Still, how does it sound with low gain?

The longest i ever leave my 60 on is like a whole evening or afternoon. These things are old and get hot and im not tryin to risk fryin somethin from leavin it on for days. Theres no point. Save and shut it off when your not using it.
