Could have put this in "Studio Environment" but I wanted to hear from 60 and maybe even 3000 users.

What are you using to mix and record your music? I'm gonna be looking at some mixers and things soon so I was wondering what other 60 users have and how they like it.

i got this real nice analog compressor, dbx 166, i put all my shit that goes onto the mp thru that and give it a mild compression. Soon im going to get a analog reel to reel to mix tracks down to. As for plug ins i pretty much only use ozone izotope its the shit check it out

I guess the 166 is nice for starters but if you ever get your hands on a 160 for a decent price (they dont go for much, around 500 I'd say) cop as many as you can!!!

These Babies are the shit when it comes to smacking drums up.
Neptunes got 2 or 4 of em, any bigger hiphop studio should have these in their rack. Great Whakk

Im in the 3k camp. For now my setup is pretty ez.
Turntable, Mixer, 3000, Multiface and most important: Adam A7s!

I'll be upgrading very soon though, and alot 8)

I use a Smart Research C2 Compressor on my MPC3000 drums. Cost me a lot of money but best investment for my studio.

Other kit:
Amek Purepath CIB x2
Thermionic Culture Vulture
Roland SRV330
ProTools TDM
Minimoog Voyager Rack
Juno 106
Waves Plug Ins
Genelec 8040s

Please note:
I'm not a rich kid, I've been building up my studio equipment up for many years with many trials and errors.

sounds like a great setup man....apart from the Genelecs I mean...

just kidding 8)

Tell me one thing about the Voyager rack though, isnt it kinda annoying to play a Moog from an external midikeyboard? I mean the entire Idea with moogs is that you can dial the knobs while playing etc.

just wonderin.

The moog rack can be fiddly but it works for me and also save space and money.

Not going to say anymore, might piss off the forum.

But the way I'm trading in my Genelec for a pair of Behringer studio monitors. CAN'T WAIT!
