Ok, this may be old to some of you cats, but this just came to me when I was thinking on how to hook up another effect unit into my set up.
I just thought of this and will try it tomorrow, I really hope this works in practice and is not just a pipe dream.
I use the 8 outs on the 60 and usually mute the stereo channel on my mixer. I keep it around to hear the click sometimes and to assign pads when I am not using the MPC Editor (rare).
I never liked the echo out because it didn't come out the 8 Outs.
But Now I realized I can mute the drum banks from the stereo output and use them as an effects return into my mixer.
The individual out mixer has the effect sends and will send the sounds through the mix out (effect send) and through the effects unit and back into the Echo Return to the stereo outs!! So now I have a fully wet (effected) signal on the mixer.
All my mixer auxes are used up except one without a return
, this just became the perfect solution, and now the echo send design makes sense!
Man I love this machine! Roger Linn is a genius!
I hope this is new to others besides me!
Note: I am using a 3.10 60, I am not sure if this applies to the old OS's.
