Share your knowledge on these two classic MPCs

I have been trying to use the reverb and delays on the effects on the MPC 3000. I have not been able to get a clean useable delay or reverb. They sound like noise or to digital.

Does anyone have any suggestions or formulas to use that you can calculate to beats per minute to get things in sync

Or even just some hints.

The MPC3000 has only a 3 tap delay processor. ( no reverb )

Noise/distortion in the effects can be caused by faulty sample RAM. ( part of the sample RAM is used as the effect process buffer )
