HOW much Would YOU PAY for 3000 ????

I am quite curious about how much, you are able to spend on a clean maxed(32Mg) with os3.11
Is 1500 $ a bit high price

I would say 1500 is axeptable, but maybe also the upper limit. If its RELLY clean and good working, it's worth it. If not, you would have to be patient and wait for a better offer (unless you ask this to get an idea on what you can sell one for)

Well, I've found one - for example:
3k for 995 on ebay... but there's no info regarding os and ram
and looks bit dodgy either

Don't buy that shit. That thing is terrible condition!

A good condition 3000 will cost you about £900 if you're in the UK. I wouldn't worry about the memory since it's cheap to get and the OS can be downloaded for free and loaded with a floppy disk. If you buy a 3G from the states off ebay you'll end up getting ass ploughed by customs which will push the price up to around £900 anyway (they even tax the shipping charges! )

If I were you I'd scour Sound on Sound readers adds daily and wait for a bargain. I take it you're from London? If so they'll be plenty come up that you can actually go and see before you buy.

but I think that 3k in UK, Europe are overpriced...
I know SOS website well, and I am not gonna pay 1800-2000 $ for same instrument I can have in US for 1200-1500 $.... it's just robbery
so I will take a risk and try US ones

by the way, Do you know guys how works custom clearence in UK ?
If I buy a second hand old instrument - is there any taxes ?? ( I've heard that tax is about 2% - so not too bad at all) but clearence could be till 19 %....

True, Europe is way too expensive, especially for 3000s. I'd get one for about 1000€ if it's nice and fully operational.

Dunno about the UK but in Europe it's basically like this: if you 'import' an item marked as a personal gift and it's value is declared at 45€ or less, than you don't need to pay any taxes. If the value declared exceeds 45€ you have to pay a percentage of the declared amount as import tax.

I bought a 'broken' SP1200 off ebay for about £240, had to pay £60 and got taxed about £60 so I guess the tax/clearence/whatever they wann call it is about 20%

I can't believe they tax the shipping costs. That just takes the proverbial.

So yeah, bear this in mind if you're thinking of buying a 3g from the US. $1500 (£750) could soon become £972 with shipping and tax.

Yeah those f*ckin' b*stards...I went to LA last November and bought about a crate of records. I shipped them to myself in Belgium. What a hassle that was to get those released from customs and I had to pay quite a bit as well to finally get them. That's how I found out how it worked.

DO you have any idea how to ship secure and semi fast (till 10 days) to UK ?? I can't belive they want 450 dollars for that...


at the end just one idea- what if I give info for TREASURY greedy b@@@, that inside is a box for spare parts, worth....100 quid ?
Could it work, what do you think?:)

I shipped one USPS for like 150 or so to Japan..I think..check it out

You really shouldn't pay more than $1,200 US for a 3k...perhaps $1300 if its mint.

You could spend your money better else where...especially since skill lies with the user, not the machine.


Just go with the 60 and get yourself a S3000XL if your going for that mp3k vibe.

Here's my technique to skip the taxes in Norway.

I'm thinking about the same myself, just with a 2500.

I've done this several times in Norway to great success (100%). Just attach a receipt that is way lower than the real amount you paid for the item, and it will skip all the taxes.

I just wonder if it is as easy as this in the EU countries. Anyone who have imported a MPC from the US to the EU and skipped all the taxes by adding a "fake" receipt?
