Hey Mr. Stereo!
I just listed two Linn 9000s tonight on ebay. I know its a bit of ruthless self promotion, but I figured you guys are the biggest Roger Linn lovers around.
These are pretty rare, I'm not sure how many are still around, or what this will go for, so I started it at $1.00.

I like the Linn 9000, as long as it has a newer OS, the first ones were crap. I'm a huge modern soul fan, and I love anything Zapp like or in that late 70s, early 80s electro-funk vein. These machines have that sound. Unfortunately they are not nearly as common as some of the other stuff from that time period and weren't used as much. They can sample with the right upgrades and that's what drew me to them. They sit in the space between the linndrum and mpc 60. Forat went pretty far with development after Linn Electronics closed and I always wondered how well that went when there were so few units in the world. However, most of them were probably in LA anyway.
The things I like best, are all the seperate outputs for each sound, and the quick access to tuning, filtering, panning, and volume via the sliders. Mostly, its just cause I'm a gear junky and I was curious about Roger Linn's legacy.
Maybe I should make a beat with it and post it before they're gone. Hopefully I'll have a couple hours to get it sorted.
I think it'd be swell if we took the time to post stuff up more frequently, it'd push us all to learn something. The actual hands-on application of all the things we discuss here is what's important anyway.
