Saving Beats and Midi Programs In The MPC3000

I have an issue that maybe someone can help with.

My Set-up:
MPC 3000
Protues 2000 (PK-6 Keyboard)
Motif 6
SP-1200
pro tools digi 001

I have all the keyboards hooked up and I control the SP thru the MPC as a drum module

I need to know the best way to save my beats. I only have 8 tracks on protools so thats out of the question.

I want to be able to load up all my insts and the beat to be able to be the way I left it when I was working on it.

I have recently been playing my tracks in Midi and then recording them and sampling each one back into the 3000 but that is too much time.

I also usually write down all the settings and instruments and tracks on a piece of paper then save the drums and midi sequences in the 3000 and when I load a beat I have to find the piece of paper or im lost.

THERE HAS TO BE A BETTER WAY.

Suggestions?

Can someone share their method?

In your case :

1 - complete a beat - 1 beat started = 1 beat finished.
2 - dump your beats to pro tools = 1 file
3- 8 tracks? improvise, you dont HAVE to have one track for hi hats , a tracks for cymbals, 1 track for snare etc etc. my asr 10 has 8 tracks. work with it.


I do all my shit in the asr-10 --- I learned to do everything in one box. new to midi and i guess can become a headache when you talking mad modules etc.
