What's good 3000 heads. So I'm up late last night testing out this 3000 and I could not for the life of me get the pads to play my sample. I'm just praying that I have'nt purchased yet another 3000 with issues. Here is what I did. First I sampled a drum break, gave it a name and then edited the "Soft End" parameter to cut off the extra on the end. When I demo the sample with the soft "PLAY" key I get sound. A very nice punchy sound by the way. OK, so then I try to assign the sample to a pad. I choose the "assign sound" option, I set the MIDI Note # by hitting the pad I want, then I enter the sample in the "Sound" field and I have the mode set to normal. Again the sound plays when I hit the soft "PLAY" button on this same screen but when I hit the pad I get nothing. Yes I check the manual twice and tried the procedure two more times but still nothing. I'm hoping there is some kind of MIDI setting I am unaware of or overlooking. Somebody please tell me I'm a big dumb 3000 noob and I should have done XYZ. Thanks

Try hitting the "Other" key to Initialize System Parameters for the unit. If that doesn't work, check the mixer settings to see if the volume for each channel on the MPC3000 is set to on or off.
