Problems with 3000 and card reader?

Hi I've got a 3000le with os 3.11 and I am having problems saving snds and pgms to a microtech digital photoalbum. I am using two formatted sandisk 256mb type I cf cards with no joy . This is the message I get when I try to save something "Sorry, this file (or possibly the entire disk) contains damaged data. For safety, transfer any other good files on this disk to another disk and stop using this disk." This is also shown in the bottom right corner - (FF10:306/29/00) Any ideas folks? Thanks

1 - did it used to work with these cards before?

Sometimes Sandisk have problems I had 2 of them give me problems brand new out the box they didn't work no matter what.

Yeah these are brand new out the box. I used one very briefly (saving one or two files) with no probs then they both started acting up? So you reckon the problem is the sandisks not the os that I am using?

Did you just get this card reader or have you had it and just started acting up?

Which model of Microtech Digital Photo Album ? ( there are several ).

Slim line one in a molded type plastic chassis ?

Or...

Chunky external type case containing a floppy drive form factor sized drive mechanism mounted within ?

What slot configuration ? How many slots ? What type of slots ?

The drive is unable to accept the multi sector transfered data from your MPC3000, hence the error.

Depending on the model of Digital Photo Album; MPC3000 OS 3.11 will not be able to perform all file save/load operations correctly.

Reasons why have been discussed in this forum before.

So, in order to supply a bit more help it would be good if you could in turn provide a little more information regarding the card reader model because "Digital Photo Album" is a bit too generic a description.

Hi thanks for the replies; 714 Beats - I've only had the card reader a short while. mpc3000le - Yes it's the slim line one (black) in a molded type plastic chasis and requires a PC card adapter to read cf cards.

The "slim line molded plastic chassis" models ( probably a Microtec PCD-10 / Minolta CD-10 / or similar ) will only work with MPC3000 machines running Mansell-Labs Vailixi 3.50.

Vailixi has the capability of slowing down the data transfer to a rate that these drives will operate reliably with when CF media is being used.

Of course, quality CF media should still be used where possible.

OK thanks for the info. Looks as if I'll be picking up Vailixi 3.50 at the end of the month.
