MPC60 OS3.10e and MPC Editor >> HELP Needed!!!

I finally got the OS 3.10e from Roger Linn Design and its great!

I just got a couple of questions:

I have the MPC Editor and its supposed to be able to convert files to .SND and .PGM and the newer mpc60 OS is supposed to be able to load the mpc3000 files.

I put some mpc3000 files (converted on the mpc editor) on a floppy and tried to load them on the mpc60. The mpc60 said something like "the content and the file's extension are not compatible" (well somethng like that).

Am i doing something wrong?

i'm pretty sure that same thing happened to me when i did it.

then i registered my version of the mpc editor and got scsi and it sorta works... but it's still not 100%.

it's almost like the mpc60 doesn't fully agree with the mpc3000 filesystem.

another thing i notice is that if you record a .snd on the mpc60 and then try to play it with the mpc editor, it will not play.

I think I had the same problem w/ files not being recognized through MPC Editor, but it was the actual wav files that were giving me trouble. Tried some different wavs and it worked OK.
3K files (transfered from wav via Awave) have always sounded a little weird on my 60. There is usually a fair amount of digital noise in the sample. Sounded the same w/ MPC Editor's trial.

It doesn't work with the 60's this has been talked about a million times on here.

I don't see where anyone said it doesn't work at all w/ a 60. I do see people saying it sounds weird like what I wrote above.

Ask fobdafied he tried I believe and had no luck

but...before putting the sounds in editor...
resave the files in your editing software of choice, ie wavlab

make sure the naming convention isn't long...and that no additional data comes through..consider ensuring it's mono..and...try it.
it didn't work for me at first, but mike goines dropped some suggestions, it worked.

again...we're talking about the 60 w/ the 3000 upgrade right?

Does all this include removing any file attributes like info that are placed in the file by the sample provider?

The floppy that will be created as an mpc3000 disk , should it be formated on the mpc60?

Do mp60 and mpc3000 have the same format system?

I am using DS floppies.
