**** scsi. you dont need that shit. its got 750 kb of memory so you could fit 2 beats on one disc. i'd get it for the 100 bucks still though, it's a good deal(in my eyes).

Remind me what the removable panel below the outputs is for?

It's for the ASK90 8 input audio to MIDI conversion board...whatever that means.
By the way, I decided to get the 900.

It converts signals from drum triggers into MIDI. I think all the other expansion boards go there too.

I used to own an S900 and it was a horrible sampler. Upgraded to an S1000 which I think sounds a hundred times better (plus it kills in the compatibility department and has SCSI).

the s900 owns the s1000 in all aspects except MAYBE sample format compatibility, which really shouldnt be a problem when dealing with SAMPLERS that have a record input...

I dunno, maybe my 900 was broken then? It sucked. Sounded really quiet and shitty. I felt it detracted from stuff I sampled into it rather than adding anything. S1000's sound dope. You're all sleeping if you write them off that quickly.

My only question is if 900's are dope, how come nobody established uses one? You'd think at least one person would have sung their praises by now if they were any good. Never heard anyone drop a reference in a rhyme either..
