Transposing a bass sample......what're the possibilities?

What is the maximum pitch range available on the MPC-60 II?

I have a bass sampled at C1. I'd like to know if it's possible to transpose any higher than 1.5 octave ranges (ie. -120, +60 - +3, -12). I know the MPC has a transpose Midi function but it doesn't make sense to me. I was just thinking about sampling a few notes from an electic piano and playing them out on the pads.......any suggestions?

No, that's the limit. +60 gives you half an octave up, and one down IIRC.

The only way to go higher is to multisample, one sample of each semitone (key of a rhodes say) per pad across all banks or as many as you need then play your keys to get it. or take a sample at each half octave and use 16 levels to switch between octaves. Sames sample time and pad space.

You can then record these parts and multitrack your drums over it, or vice versa. It is old school, but it works.

16 levels gets me where I need to go most of the time, otherwise I use my emax to multisample and play across the keys.
