3000 in or out for fat sound

originally a 1000 owner. i recently got my hands on a 3k for long term borrowing. i've heard the 3k has fatter sound than 2k. is this because on converters on the way in or the way out?

basically, if i use disks made on 2k in my 3k (this is possible, correct?), will it be the same fat sound or do i need to sample everything into this bad boy to get the desired chunkyness.

any feedback & opinions appreciated in advance.

The sampler is better on the 3000 that's why it sounds the way it does.

I don't think your whole beat will load up cause they are not backwards compatible.

take the lid off your 3ooo
then take the lid off your 1ooo
if you know what you're looking at that will tell you half the s tory

I have my suspicions about the 3k; is it actually playing at the sample rate of the sample or is the internal sample rate lower? I hear artefacts of blatant downsampling - not that I'm complaining, it sounds fine.
