For tha past month plus Ive been workin on my 60(MKI) wit no floppy drive.
(and thats been a headache all in its self)
However, all was working well as normal wit my machine except i could not save anything
(obviously cause my drive isn't workin)
But then today when I fired up my MP, immediately coming out my monitors was a grip of noise floor.
Similar to tha noise floor of electircal Ground issues (Lo bit frequency hiss) and with a mix of digital noise floor
(if that makes sense, i confused aswell)...
and when i sample anything into tha MP, it sounds fine when recording in, yet when i play it back it sounds all fcked up!
then my MP Freezes. none of my soft keys, command keys, or anything works, after i playback tha sound once.
so then i shut it off to experience tha same thing over and over.
i am thinkin it could be tha 1/4" outputs are shot, or something wit tha sample engine is goofed!
i wanna send it off to FORAT to get it fixed, or should i jus try and cop another one and scrap my current one i have now for parts...
im in a world shambles wit out my MP!
if anyone out there has any tips or pointers that would be greatly appreciated!

But based on your situation are you saying it's like a high pitched whine noise like a grounding issue cause then that could be something bleeding into your outs?

It actually might be more serious then jsut the Memory based on how you are describing it I think. You might have something bleeding into your outputs which is gonna make some whining noises. You might have to do some troubleshooting.

It does sound like there is a sporadic hi pitched noise goin on (sorta digital soundin).
tha noise goes in and out and between tha Lo and Hi noise floors...
To me it seems like there is some bleeding goin on, comin out of tha stereo outputs!
im so LOST! and heartbroken at tha same time!

If your backlight and all that works it sounds like you have a bleeding inverter from the backlight going into your outs.
