how do you load the update of version 3.11 into the internal memory? when i start the mpc it loads off of the floppy, but how can i save it so i dont have to load the floppy every time?

You can't unless you get new eproms with the OS on it.

you are refering to a 3000 i assume? i think you have to reload the floppy everytime you boot the machine!!! almost positive.... elm, i think you are refering to the EPROMs in the MPC60...

i hope im right, imma bit faded and jaded right now!

3000 also has eproms, ask forat or vst.

Akai got the 3.11 eprom for $50. This is easy as hell to install. Just open your 3000, you'll see the little chips (I think its two, i forget) pop em out with a screwdriver and put the new ones in.

I just use the disk. The two minutes it takes to load 3.11 from my 3.08 aint worth $50.

you can get the ROM's but mine boots from floppy...never leaves the drive as I use ZIP for sounds...
I just go to the bathroom after turning it on, when Im back it's booted...

hmmm. interesting.... you can have the 3.11 OS for the mpc3000 on either EPROM chips or a floppy? id go for the chips if its only $50, itd save a bit of the life of the floppy drive im assuming...
