It was a close call between Selfinflict, Faraway Place and Shank.

I went with Selfinflict in the end. A bassline would take it up another notch though.

This was my first battle and I've learned a lot. Thanks to mpc-forums for hosting this! All you beat makers are awesome! All you guys brought something really unique. Now I'm ready to bring something new to the next battle!

El Eddie was my pick for this one. But it was a tough choice for sure.

Also was my first one... I like the sense of community on here, will try to motivate myself to get off my ass again and enter the next ones too.. even if only to figure out what gear to kick out/replace that kills workflow.

after listening twice, i narrowed it down to:

selfinflict
shank carvin
fromafarawayplace
el eddie
verysickbeats
central parks

and in the end, my vote goes to shank carvin... just 'cause i really like the way the drums sound and how he synced them up with the rest of the samples... props to all contestants though... i'm looking forward to hearing what the next sample is gonna be.

I just liked the feel on these three, not saying that the other's weren't dope, I enojyed them all...these just did it for me personally, mainly the drums.

My vote goes to:
