MPC never really got "hacked" akai left it open. Would it be a bad thing if users could create their own synth content?
Modifying the MPC firmware is harmless to their business model, akai / inmusic isnt losing money because of it. Probably quite the contrary.
It's not like people are hacking in app pruchases because the MPC doesnt have any to hack. They are poking at unlocking functionality, which isn't malicious in any way, it's inquisitive.
I've talked to thekikgen and he seems like a pretty nice person, i dont think benevolent is the correct term for someone who promotes creativity.
