Hello,

I’m currently studying in an electronics program at school and I’m near the end and we have to do a project. So me and my partner thought about making something like the MPD218. But we’re having trouble to find good information on MIDI file manipulation and such and what kind of chip is used and other things like that. So if anyone has any information we would be happy to read it (links, videos or simply answers to this).

Thank you to anyone who reads and answers :worthy: :worthy: :worthy: :worthy:

I‘d suggest using an Arduino or Pi for start. These are rather well documented and should get you going rather quickly. Some of my students used these for building remote controllers for analogue compressors or for visual metronomes.

I agree with 83dude. Arduino pi is all the processing power you need.

Utilizing a 3d printer might be helpful. Or some sort of project box.

Arduino cables. Breadboards. Led kit. tact switches and flip switches. resistors. sliding and rotary potentiometers. Stuff isn't too expensive from aliexpress. I put together a large toolbox of various things to utilize in projects and kits and for electronics repairs and customizations. A good solder iron with adjustable heat.
