I doubt it. Obviously every MPC user isn't going to be buying this product, and I doubt JJ would limit his business by only updating his software for the small % of 'enhanced' screen owners. JJOS3 will probably have compatibility for the new screen, but still be fully functional even without it.

Since MPC-Stuff and JJ are working 'together', it can probably be assumed that either the software upgrade is included with the screen or it will be an independent paid upgrade similar to older versions of JJOS. It would also give non-JJOS users incentive to buy full JJOS if they wanted the screen.

On a side note, looks like JJ will have to be adding pong and snake as new features.

You don't have to apologize because your opinion doesn't mean anything to me. Not even enough for me explain what I meant...it is what it is.

Damn...I was really hoping for another 1000 vs. all other models debate. :(

No..I have both a 4k and a 1k. The 1k can hold its own though. One thing I didn't like about the 1k is that some of the screen would be blurred out in the JJOS because all of the info didn't fit. Now with this screen itll be non issue. I also don't have to tilt the 1k on my lap when I make beats with this screen.

Just curios which O.S. and what part of the screen is blurred?

I never imagined a company would come along and do an LCD mod to have a larger screen. This is truly awesome for MPC 2500/1000 users. I really don't have enough room for another MPC....but heck...I will probably pick up a 2500 and add this mod regardless.

A VGA monitor has been high on MPC feature requests lists for quite some time and I bet it would be equally or more popular.

MPC would need some kind of graphics card for it to have VGA.. it's totally different to interfacing graphics LCD with a microcontroller.

Me too. Just a reg normal old tilt in and out screen..

Sorry guys, honestly there is not much point in a regular tilt screen when you can have an upgraded larger screen. In our experience an MPC user is more out for functionality rather than something cosmetic or so you can see the screen a bit better.

Making a tilt screen also poses the problem with area size (clunkiness) as well, keep in mind the MPC2500 and the 1000 use the EXACT same size screen out of the box and look how much bigger the opening has to be to have the tilt part in it on the 2500.

As for portability the screen snaps in the old location so it will be able to be removed easily enough. I will do some further testing on it and also try to come up some ideas to help with portability.

As for it being clunky, there is not much you can do when adding a screen to a unit that is double in size from normal. As I said before it is admittedly not gorgeous but its the ONLY way for proper fitment.

You will not be forced to use this larger screen with JJ updates. No worries on that. I do think that it would be beneficial, to get the most of your machine BUT you will have a choice :)

Awesome...when the time comes (and I'm not rushin' ya here) for videos, a video of this would be good to see...sounds bitchin' and I can't wait. :)

regarding 1k screen portability:

being able to remove the screen for safekeeping is crucial
as is being able to place something over the rectangular screen-hole (why does that sound dirty?) to protect the insides when you throw your 1k in a bag...
