DIY Pad Replacement on 1k Possible?

I posted in the 1k section but I realized it's better to put here. I have the red/blue MPC and was wondering if there's a way you can avoid paying like 200 for the pad upgrade and do it yourself? I tried to find parts or something on this with no avail. Anyone heard of this?

There is no diy fix, the only option is buying the kit or getting an akai mpd and running via midi to the 1k, used mpd's can be found cheap but I would just get the pad fix.

unfortunately, your only real option is to get the FSR pad fix kit.
