Anybody ever painted the back and bottom plates on their 1k?

This maybe dumb but I just wanna make sure... I painted the buttons and panels on my 1k with a flat black spray paint and it came out great. Now Im wondering if there would be any negatives to painting the (original metallic) back and bottom plates? Maybe heating would **** it up in the long run or anything....am I better off just getting the black plate off mpcstuff or am I in the clear and nothing should be affected by a couple coats of black?

let me know...im anxious to do something about this old ugly plate.
