MPC 2500 jjos /w AKAI s5000, MIDI

can't... figure... it... out.

this s5000 is a WHOLE new beast for me, I figured it wouldn't be that bad to figure out... nope... driving me CRAZY.

I want the s5000 to slave the 2500, so I can run my drums through it... haven major trouble with this one.

if anyone with experience with the two can give me a hand that would be appreciated.

you can't "run drums through it" via midi... midi is not audio.

also, you probably want to slave the s5000 to the 2500 instead?

Sorry, meant run drums through the s5000 and trigger them from the 2500...

It is a little hard to provide assistance with such vague and confusing questions.

Statements such as wanting the S5000 to slave the 2500, and wanting to run drums through the S5000, don't really make much sense.


Maybe you could provide some details about what you have tried, how you have set it up, etc.


Maybe try...

- Load drum samples into S5000

- Setup a program on the S5000 with the drums samples assigned to various MIDI note numbers (use MIDI note numbers that relate to the MPC pads that you want to play the drum samples from)

- Connect a MIDI cable from a MIDI output of the MPC to a MIDI input of the S5000

- Set a track on the MPC to output to the MIDI output that is connected to the S5000

- Hit pads, hear drums noises from S5000, record pad hits into MPC sequencer
