Mpc 2000 xl + S2000: floppy disk space

Hi all,

I just started working with the mpc 2000xl and also the S2000, coming from the mpc1000, where saving a beat was never a problem. Now that I'm working with floppy disks I have to think about a much I can store on a single floppy disk.

So, how do I calculate how much I can store on a 1.44 mb disk?

Sampling all in mono.

MPC2000 XL: 44.1 kHz samplerate

S2000: 22.05 kHz samplerate

ps. I'm not planning on installing zip/hd drives or cf-cardreaders.

So that's about 10 seconds for 1Mb for the MPC2000xl and double that for the S2000 in 22kHz?

The 2kxl will span multiple disk so why are you concerned with how much a floppy holds?

Also You can throw a reader in the XL for around $25 or less, you will pay more than that in pain and suffering trying to use floppies.
Why would you want to go that route?

I'l look into the CFcardreader option. Can you save in different folders? Or all in one big folder?
