Might just provide an interim and noiseless solution to my kid/me wanting to mess around with a drum kit at home until we sort out a full electronic drum kit.

Clearly something that will hopefully evolve in terms of features and hardware, but currently still seems like a really fun and cool way to get into playing drums at home, and will happily hook up to pro drum vstis (Superior, Addictive, BFD etc), or even your own kits, with up to 127 velocity layers per instrument and even supports & recognises independent left and right hand samples.

Hah! That's siiick, I could defenatly see it being useful to some people. Not being able to see the drums would drive me mad, but yeah that's really cool...

i see it being quite hard to learn on but great for already adept drummers. Please let us know how it is and if you're just starting out.

Okay, got them now, just had a very rough set up and play. Bear in mind that I am not a drummer so I have nothing to compare this to, but after 20 minutes I'm feeling fairly comfortable with it and it's getting easier to judge how hard to hit, where to hit etc.

It's highly configurable, you can build custom kits, move everything around, change sensitivity and pedal ranges, very impressed. The supplied drum sounds are really good, it sounds like there's dozens of velocity layers per instrument and it sounds incredibly natural, even the hi hat with a very realistic gradual open close.

It's clearly very 'beta', the software could do with some gui and usability attention and I get the strong feeling it's not specifically written for a Mac, so there's some way to go on this but all in all it's a promising start and apparently there's an update due any day now.

I'll be giving it a proper workout next week.

I remember seeing this being previewed at NAMM last year. If it works half as good as it does in the video it'll be a cool thing to have.

Is there any noticeable latency?
