When I got my unit a bit ago I noticed it was doing a slight clicking beat as it was loading and saving samples using the floppy drive.

Today I went to chop up some breaks and use it more and noticed it was doing a slight humming sound when its loading now as well. It sounds like a fan or something. Dust could be stuck in there, im waiting for the stores to reopen and get some air duster..

but im also looking for floppy drives would an external work through my scsi card in the machine? or will the external memory not hold any samples? Ive been reading about the CF to SCSI adapter but not sure if I want to get a internal just to be replaced by that

floppy drives are noisy things at the best of times, you should hear the clunking whiring beast that is my ensoniq mirage.

here is a video of somebody loading floppies into a healthy akai s1000

do your floppy disks show bad blocks when you format them?
