A friend of mine has (2) identical Z8 Rackmount Samplers with the latest OS 1.45.
He can Load files from the Internal HD with no issues... when Saving (programs, samples files etc...) to the Internal HD, the Z8 "freezes"... everything stops working, he then has to reboot the unit. The only way he is able to Save files to the Internal HD, is to have a USB thumb drive plugged in, Load files directly from the USB thumb drive, then he is able to Save files to the Internal HD. This is happening with both Z8 units. I advised him to purchase a brand new Internal HD, format it and start fresh... after formatting, he is still experiencing the "freezing" issues when trying to Save to the Internal HD, unless the USB drive is plugged in, he is not able to Save to the Internal HD.
Has anyone ever experienced this while using the Z8? Maybe it's time he upgrades to another sampler? Are there any other Akai units he can upgrade to that will read Z8 program & sample files?
