from a new FB behringer group:

Hi guys, welcome:-)
We're here to design a complete range of new DJ, Production Samplers and Controllers.
Our goal is to turn this world upside down and take on the largest players. All for one purpose - to deliver the most cutting edge gear and the best possible prices. That is a promise.

I know it's only an idea, but obviously the buttons indicate a direct rip off of MPC features. I guess it was inevitable, but let's see how they deal with the software side of things.

I really can't see Behringer having the resources or staying power to develop an long term ecosystem to rival the MPC, it's taken Akai 8 years to get the MPC software/firmware where it is, I doubt Behringer can just throw some cash at an idea and conjure up something with the same depth and I certainly can't see them committing to years of intense software updates. Developing an MPC is going to be a very different proposition to cloning a model D

But interesting to watch what happens, nothing but good news for consumers.

interesting to see they aren't cloning an mpc60 or sp1200.
this might be a tough game for behringer -- there are quite a lot of modern samplers on the market.
whereas their cloned gear is competing against a hot, overinflated second hand market, and behringer win by a mile there.

Weird transport controls placement.

There’s nothing wrong with 8x2 pads, but, it does make for further away transport controls.

If it was 16x1 then we’d have a flowers problem..
