just wait - you'll be sorry when the revolution comes and all you've got is water and tinned food, while Toranaga is sitting on a pile of rack samplers!

I think this link has the wrong cable. As far as I know the s2000 uses a SubD25 connector for SCSI.

OK i have a question.

the s900 is in the post! (i'm almost pissing myself in anticipation!)

i have a breakbeat (as wave file) that I am going to use for a track.

ok suggestions for the best way to get this to the s900?? got to be sampled in via analog ins. no copying to floppy or any of that kinda thing. so the question is what should I use the play the breakbeat so I can sample it?

I'm thinking one of the other AKAI devices probably the MPC1000 (cause its already on the hard disk :) but I find the noise floor on the 1k quite high, at least when sampling in anyway? next would probably be the s3000xl cause I think it sounds quite clean but still has a lot of presence.

can choose from ?

S3000XL
S2000
MPC1000
MPC3000

M/Audio Fireware 410
Digidesign MBOX
Creamware Pulsar II
EMU 0404USB
M/Audio Project Mix I/O
MOTU something??
Serato -> Stanton SK6

wait, was your question asking if you should use the sample feature (aka record in feature) on your s900 sampler for your break beat loop?

If you're worried about introducing noise floor you could always use software to convert the .wav into a file that you can then send to the s900 over midi. Slow as balls but eliminates introducing any further noise.
