EPR Electronics always had the best price on the E-MU expansion roms... they'd sell for $100 on ebay and he'd sell them for $50 for the most part... years ago i decided to max-out my Proteus2000 with the phatt rom, extreme lead rom and the beat garden rom. i now have 2000+ banks of sounds in my proteus that cover all bases/genres i need. currently EPR only has the extreme lead (XL-7) rom available for $50... but at the price it's still a great expansion for any compatible E-MU module out there... the proteus2000 is a great piece for the price it goes for... can't really say the same about the proteus1000 if you ever intend on maxing it out... 1000 also has less voices/outputs etc...

Proteus 2000

This has 3 stereo pairs out, 32ch midi, 4 slots for roms.

It's double the hardware options than Proteus 1000/Mo Phatt.

It's exactly the same hardware as Turbo Phatt.

You can add 3 more roms at a later date to max it out (exactly what I did was max out my Turbo Phatt and I couldn't be happier).
