Is the screen readable if you light it by a strong LED lamp ?
Is the pattern shifted/displaced, with missing parts ?
Or are there horizontal/vertical lines covering content ?
The most common failure is the display illumination.
2nd is the display cable (broken) and it‘s placement inside the connector(s).
A broken driving electronic (on the display back) is possible, but rare.
Unless it‘s a case of brute force mechanical damage...
You may find indicators for the original manufacturer on the display unit itself.

320x240 LCD units were rather common, but mounting size and cables must match. The latter is the biggest problem.
