Me either. Not when you can buy Analog BassStation II's, Korg Minis and Arturia Minis at bargain prices.

keyboard looks Nice Tho" if It had the illest build in sounds combined with a solid vst i might consider it...but no this is not what I was hoping for... I really would have liked complementary software for audio tracks ext synths guitars vocals global mixer...but I still wait and reserve judgment

If anything, I think that the products that Akai is presenting in this year's NAMM show is a clear indication of where their direction is for the future. They never have been very good with updating software. Just look at the MPC line, especially the 5000. They don't seem to want to spend the time or the money on fixing bugs and developing new software features. What they really seem to excel at is making midi controllers, and that's what this year's NAMM show is all about.

Someone already started a thread about how the prices on the Ren have been dropping. I think that if Akai would have at least had some sort of 2.0 beta version of the Ren's software available for a presentation at NAMM that contained a plethora of new features, then the Ren's prices would have remained the same.

well to be fair... the old mpk49 had some flaws that needed fixing. hopefully they didn't just replace the garbage pads from the original and they also replaced the entire keys design they used on the original too...

that new m-audio joint looks cool, but im not expecting anything great quality wise from them... that is the case even more now that they have been bought out.

+1 - the key bed on my mpk49 ended up with one of the keys popping up and needing replaced. I loved that controller, but yes it did have some build issues.

All the hype.. all the gas.. and they hit us with some new midi keyboards! hahaha
nukai you really should get your current line of controllers aka (the REN) up to date software wise before releasing new products!
and on that note i will be selling my ren and getting a maschine studio

The Ren's MPC Software has been updated approx every 3 months since its Sep 2012 release to include the most recent 1.6. This MPC has been better supported than any MPC to date to include numerous feature requests. More is coming to include some of the biggest user requests. Stay tuned.

the new trigger finger looks good, but really it's like a modern day MPD with a few more features

it really adds nothing new to the table. if they made it similar to the essentials then that would be a cool tool to run inside your DAW

but honestly.. can't buy these toys because they look pretty, like... does it really serve a purpose in your setup

Hey I hope so for those who are not satisfied with there $1,299 purchase. It still does not function like a basic mpc does.

On a positive note.. I hope your right. But I have a feeling with this namm slap in the face.. ebay will be crawling with used mpcs for sale in the next month or so.

This MPC has been in development for over 2 years, and is still a steaming pile of shit.

Hopefully Pete has a couple of decent new features to show us to make up for this big **** flatulence.
