It has 40mb of ram and sampling option.

I must say im quite impressed with the sounds. Alot of character

I managed to sample a quick loop and bang out a quick sequence today, fairly easy process. The amount of options can be shocking at first though

It amazes me that its almost impossible to find any information on people using this board to sample and make hiphop type stuff :hmmm: :hmmm:

Now i only need to upgrade the os to 3.83 and get a new cable so i can hook up my zipdrive!!

i have been on the hunt for a k2000 or k2500 for a minute, nice find.

They are a slept on sampler, but i think its more aimed at synthesis sampling rather than sampling loops and making beats. Some of the kurz engines are insane in those machines haha

what do you mean by the engines being insane?

theres so much you can do with your samples and it has onboard fx so i will definetly be using it for making beats. havnt done too much yet since i want to upgrade the os first, which should upgrade the sequencer (among other things) quite a bit.

doing all the sequencing in 2kxl for now and adding sounds from k2000

i was really close to get and X3 and a Dx7 but ended with the k2000 and im happy

im content for now when it comes to synths since im short on space and money

engine insane = its got a great FX and got that digital VAST thingo. Its like a ASR but it has DOPE sounds in it when you turn it on. i think haha

i never used one, ive just wanted one (or a k2500) for ages for the insanely good sounds they have.

edit: which is based off watching videos like a mug on youtube haha

Yo out of curiosity... what type of mixers are you guys using for your synths. Finding that I need a decent mixer so wanted to know what other synth / mpc heads are using

depends how many synths you have!

i use a 12 channel desk mixer for my odds and sodds (guitar, pocket synth, bass guitar, keyboard synth, ect)

think the mackie 1604 will prob get a few mentions.

I only wish I owned one.

I settled for a Kontakt sample library of one instead...

I use a roland M16e

I've got a Fantom-S, MV8800, VK-7, a DigiDesign Eleven Rack, an Art Pro II channel strip, a Mac running Logic through an MBox2 Pro, and a Laptop running Maschine/Live through a Presonus audiobox all hooked up to it.

I can use the sends on the channels to send any signal from any source to any recording/sampling device. The Eleven Rack is for guitar & bass, & the Art Pro II is for a mic.

I also have a 1/8th inch cable sitting there ready to hook to my phone if I want to sample something from my phone (youtube, or whatever).

I own a slim phatty and a voyager and ms 2000r. Even after having my voyager for a good 6 months I still love the sound of my slim phatty. Seems to me that if you want a jp8000 or ms2000 which are both polyphonic Analog modeling synths, you probably wouldnt want a moog which are analog monophonic synths. So very different. the JP can give you PHAT and the MS has nice lows too in some cases (love the arp and patch matrix - great fun and flexibility) but if you want a moog a slim or little phatty would work out fine. You'll love the sound and the moog filter is just the best (side not can be used to process external sources) but sounds to me like you have decide what you are looking for... JP and MS are different altogether from Phatty's.

Oh it is... When I bought my MPC 60II the guy I copped it from mentioned that I need to get that jp 8000. I remember seeing those in the studio back in the day.
