No, it only has effects when card is installed. You can fake delays and chorus effect with some extra trouble is you like, but that's it. And digital distortion ofcourse.

Every Akai sampler has LP filter built-in.

Peeped the input board on the s3200XL, and it has those Asahi Kasei AK5328VP chips mentioned in the article.
The converters were not PCM67 as in that article; I think they said PCM63P.

Hey, I found out a couple of midi cc's that work with my S3000xl. I thought you might like to try this as well.

Got my midikeyboard knobs like this

Knob 1 - Mod - cc01 (modwheel is busted, assignable to LFO, pitch, whatever)
Knob 2 - Filter - cc02 (breath in APM Global settings)
Knob 3 - Volume - cc07
Knob 4 - Pan - cc10
Knob 5 - Effect send - cc91 (very cool for tweaking in effects)
Knob 6 - Sustain on/off - cc61 (works like a sustainpedal

I tried the other midi cc numbers but this was all that worked.

Anyone know of any other cc number that can be controled with midi?

Also, if you don't use you pitchbend, you can turn off the pitch in the pitchpage and use it to modulate something else.

Would you trade a s3000 for s1000 and viceversa? If so, why would you?

s3000 (s2800, s3000i, s3200) has quite a buttery sound, s1000 a bit more bumpin' in the lower mids and a tiny bit more gritty. but still clean.. if that makes sense. Both sound great though.

I have 950 and 3000i. There some nice ads on the 1000 but I think i will keep the 3000
