Can't believe the lack of attention and updates to this product, its just terrible, how the hell is akai NOT bankrupt? How can they show their face to the public after screwing up a product that u would think is impossible to screw up. What a waste of $1200, my old ass mpc2500, fantom x, fantom g, maschine mk1 worked 100x better than this piece of crap ever did. All the Ren is is a blingy looking controller with a sorry ass pathetic skeleton of a software. If I go the software route again I will make sure to choose a company that stays up to date with technologies, OS's, and communicates or at least tries to, with their customers. Akai fails in almost every aspect with the Ren.

LMAO.

Excellent tirade.

But I don't approve this message

NAMM has started. :Sigh:

The 'big announcement' is just a few MPK keyboards, updated with backlit pads, that come with/work with MPC Essentials, and a bunch of old shit that has already been announced, some up to a year ago at NAMM 2013.

And I'm not surprised some people here are licking crack, fanboys never stop.

Told ya guys days ago, the Race is over and Akai can NEVER catch up with Native Instruments again .....
The setback in software development and no edge in hardware controlling makes this a no brainer.

Nukai did however have great marketing in fooling people with the new MPC commercials and lame MPC minute interviews...
It's amazing how many people are sensitive to phrases like 'the MPC worflow' and 'the MPC swing'.

Sad to see many paid dearly for that mistake.

Whats even mindboggling is that most still believe in Akai in 2014.

They kicked them selves in the balls. Didn't gave a shit about the BIG

I feel what Akai is doing....... they're looking at the big picture. The Word is integration with other DAWs, most of us want that, by having software like Elements as a plugin in Pro Tools, Ableton, Cubase fully mappable with controller is always a plus to me. I think it's a start to something different........ Remember it's not what you have its what you do with it. They may have the MPK2 with 2.0 by the end of the year :)

So MPKs, EWI, guess we'll see more over the next few days. Any new announcements from Akai on the horizon? Still hoping for a big announcement about the mpc. Would be strange to have a complete NAMM go by without an mpc mention.

I don't think there will be any more Akai announcements.

This is what Akai said on their Facebook page...
We are through teasing. Check out the new MPK249!

That's just the tip of the iceberg! See what else we will be revealing at NAMM here: http://bit.ly/1hMfuzS

So, the iceberg is what they have listed on their NAMM page already.

The most we can hope for, I think, is seeing the MPC Software 1.7 update that Pete has mentioned, but that he is not sure what the Akai product/marketing people will allow to be shown.

This would be because he only finished coding it yesterday, and it still has to go through the beta testing process, before being released.
