and to put your samples on specific keys go to edit wave and select the wavesample then go to edit layer and adjust its keyrange to the specific key

To Assign to Key range and Root key for the copied wavesamples its EDIT > PITCH

QUESTION?: can you edit a sample after it's been assigned to a key, i was trying to do some sample editing after i had already had the sample used in a sequence, but it told me that sample wave is not allowed.,do you have to edit as soon as you sample and it gets stored to memory?

yep, the machine will always tell you its not allowed if you are on the wrong layer and/or wrong wavesample. You can edit samples anytime you like though, just gotta have the correct sample/layer selected.

just an update, im getting better with the asr now, notice i havent asked a question like "how do you turn up the master volume" in a while, but man i love this machine, the only thing i dont like is that timestretch takes like half an hour (if you have a like..... 8 second sample... which i did once..... but yeah everything else is great
(and i found a way around it, most people probably know this but i make a copy of the sample, do timestretch with quality=1, then see if it fits and just do trial and error until you get it right)..

All of a sudden - a 'bare' ASR-10 may be a pretty handy thing to have around the place...I want to see what he does with the DI-10.

OHHH SHIT!!! Is this the same guy that does the Korg DSS-1 upgrades (http://web.me.com/tomvirostek/DSS-1/DSS1.html)? Can not wait to see how far he takes the ASR10, maybe even a OS update for the sequencer!!!

DAMN this manual is confusing me more,it seems that each section says the same thing in adifferent way,so when yuo go to the keyboard and try to do something i'm totaly lost,HAHA
trying to mess with the params on a sample, but it seems that i mess it up it sounds better when i sample straight and do minor adjustments ,then trying to change the hole sample,
i havent yet saved anything yet, havent got there yet, been leaving it on fofr days ,it smells VINTAGE love the smell that comes out of gear smells super fat and i havent even made a beat yet.

having problems with the sequence, when i record i play my rif as i want it,then press stop .then i go and truncate it to 4 bars but when it plays back i get this pause like it didnt finish recording ,even if i play over the 4bars it still has that pause,
they way i got the sample on the keyboard its looped perfect but when i record it to a seq it doesnt soudn teh same, i can't figure it out ,read the manualdone what it saysbut no luck,
what am i doing wrong or what can i do to get it to loop right ?
and the default bars are what? 16bars? 12 bars? i cant remember right now i'm away fromt he KB.
can i get an idea of what i can do here to make it loop right ? thanks muuch appreciated. thanks

What's up bro,

Im not sure if I read you correctly that you are leaving it on for days? I personally wouldnt do this unless you want to be buying a new asr haha.

Mine gets warm after many hours, but days im not so sure about. I dont even think it has internal fans.

By all means do your thing just saying..

As far as looping are you talking about looping the sequence or the sample?

Peace

rdavila by any chance your name wouldnt be Raul? i got a friend named raul davila what a trip.

anyways yeah i leave it on for days at a time,it doesnt get hot,it's warm like usual like it you turn it on and play it for awhile, normal, yeah i have a tendency
to leAVE my gear on,so when i come back to it everything is the same as i left it, i can save i know but then i have to reload and wait and all that crap,it's better left on plus they do it like that in the studio's,if it wasnt meant to be left on the wouldnt sell it feel me?

anyways yeah i'm talking about looping the seq,not the sample i got the sample looped already,it just wont loop in the seq at 4bars it has a pause at the end.
oh and its aEPS 16+ not a ASR, i know this aint the place for EPS but there are alot of simularitys in both.

thanks bro peace

Nah man not Raul. Close it's Rick. Yea a trip though.

I dont have it in front of me, but think its along the lines of command sequence and edit sequence length.

Either that or you could overdub and stop continue at the cut off bar.

My bad on the info, I mainly use the mpc's to seq.

Props though for running that bia hot though!! ;) Fool said 'it smells VINTAGE ' thought you were talkin bout circuits cookin all day haha.. Anyway

I'll check when I get home.

Peace

i was talking to my friend who's a keyboardist and worked on one of these he told me it's cause I'm not on 1/4 default note ,i mostly work on the mpc myself so I'm accustom to using 1/16 to make beats thats what i set it on when i came across it in the menus.

now i have seem to have lost the sample in there somewhere and i need to find it.or i just have it shut off, cant figure out what happen yet,but i'll stumble across it sooner or later.

yeah that vintage smell is probably the screen it comes from the center of the board when i play it,love that old gear, smells like what tube amps smell like
