You're dealing with 20+ year old digital equipment. Its amazing that ANYONE still provides software that can read/write those formats... However, they're all samplers... There's Translator, Awave, and audio cables. Those are your three options.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be a tight ass ungreatful jerk. I am just
at a low point in my life both spiritaully, and finacially. I have a wife, two young
children, and a disabled sister to take care of. I went from a great life in Los Angeles
making $2000 a week to a shittty life in Kentucky down to $200 a week, and welfare.
My family, and I have lost, and suffered alot this past year. I have had to sell most of
my personal items(truck, music gear, jewerly, etc) to survive. Although I will likely sell
more gear when needed, Ive been blesses with a great wife who has convinced me to try to continue moving forward with this music that give me hope.
keep a few of my main pieces of gear, and keep moving forward with my music. Other
than my family this music is all I've got to give me hope, but at this point in my life I
cannot, and will not spend money to have the things I want when I can't provide the minimal things we need...

I didn't read ungrateful from your prior post, but anyway....

No such thing as a great life or a **** life. Only life. The journey between birth and death. You get tested both through wealth and health, and through the lack thereof. But when those things affect your soul, then you have to figure how you can be whole within, when the world around you is falling apart. Music helps me do that, and I think your wife understands that (mine never did). So consider yourself lucky.

Back on topic: grab a pair of audio cables, there's nothing cheap or free that does what you want.

Didn't say I don't care, and not sure where you're getting that from... I don't worry, that's the benefit of my philosophy; but that's a different thing all together from not caring. Anyway, if you ain't right within, how are you supposed to help them? That's all I'm saying. They don't believe you when you tell them everything is going to be okay, if you don't believe it yourself.

Anyway, maybe someone with an MPC 3000 around here can help you out. Trying hard to stay on topic here...

I have an mpc 3000 and an asr-10. Both use totally different file formats so there's no question of an easy transition from one to the other.
Cheapest option is the audio cables so you can play the samples on one unit and sample them into the ASR but as you say you don't have an mpc 3000 to play them on. Fair enough, Im trying to think of software that will play the files anyway (possibly cool edit pro or VLC media player - try '.snd player' in google for some possibilities. Now if you do find something free, then do as mpc says and get some audio cables to connect your PC to your asr. The sound should be pretty clean, and while its not perfect, its the cheapest solution I can think of right now.
Ok - now if you find you do have some money for software - I've tried both Translator and Awave, and Awave wins hands down.
There are some valid points here regarding other things in life -but this thread (undoubtedly one of the best on the site) is already not far off 60 pages. Can I ask that it gets tidied up in some way. And for the record, Im with dryad and mp3 on this one. DB Cooper seems to be a new user of this site so its worth cutting him some slack, but for everyone complaining about their lot - you can guarantee there are millions who would love to swap places with them. A bit of perspective is needed here.

Its like a transcript, you can't really take away what has been said unless there is a breach of the forum rules.

You'll find some sounds if you look hard enough and/ or ask around.

So Ive been trying to digest chapters in both the asr-10 manual,
and sample magic book on resampling w/effects, effects on buzzes,
and routing with the output expander. Now that I have an idea,
though im sure it's not accurate, I'd like to know how others use
effects, buzzes, and routing of instruments through their output expander.

Do you have a generic method that you use regularly for location/path
of instruments, effects, and routing through the output expander?

Most of the time, I'll either route the entire instrument through effects or run them straight out of the main outputs dry. I don't have the output expander.

It's not a replacement for the manual, but it is a great addition.Very well written, and easy to follow. Actually it's
the best user guide I've ever read. Anyone interested in these ensoniq samplers should read this book prior to opening the manual. It's more or less an indepth introduction to the eps, eps-16+, and asr-10. It
will get you alot further faster. 

I've owened my asr for several years, coming from an mpc, and korg I was unable to get my head around it. Being a creature of habit I easily gave up on it shortly after I purchased it, and into the closet it went never to return 
untill I was forced to sell some gear. My main pieces of gear sold quickly, and this one just sat there. Being practically broke, unemployed, and with extra time 
to waste, I was inspired to write some lyrics, and make some music. This forced me to open the sample magic book I had purchased a year or so earlyer, but had yet to read. Several pages into it I had an epiphany............"I'm retarded!", or was.., know what I'm
saying?
