mpc 1000 (only owned for a few days because a button was broken so i took it back to the craigslist guy)
mpc 2500 fully maxxed out and customized jjos 2xl. gonna keep this one for awhile, but i have been tossing around the idea of trading it for a 1k thats fully maxxed out and customized, although i think i might just cop a cheap 1k and customize/build on it slowly myself.

E-MU Ultra 6400. More or less brand new, got it off a bloke who didn't use it, still has the plastic on the screen. Now fitted with CF card reader. Serious filters and modulation capabilities.

Akai S3000i. Bought it on a whim as it was going mega cheap. Fixed the screen and replaced the knobs. Definitely a workhorse, but it's f*cking HUGE. Literally the deepest rackmount unit I've ever seen.

Still have them all, but don't use them as often as I should.

The EMU Ultra 6400 - just one thing to say about this little box of love : The FILTERS are fantastic ! ( and so tweekable ). I thought the standard FX were as weak as ****, but that was easily looked past once I'd banged the recorded material into a DAW. My only regret is that I sold mine ( and for peanuts ).

Fook knows how i managed to work with these beasts as i came to electronics late in life and missed the computer age at school.Started off with the casio sampling funki drummer of course from vinyl.The best sampler probably.

(in the 80s') Casio SK1 (as a toy)

MPC-2000 Classic - I tried to love the machine, but its poor file management (no directory support, floppy & SCSI only) and non-tilt screen was the major reason I switched to MPC-2000XL.

Currently in possession:
Korg Electribe ES-1 - Totally underrated among hip hop beat makers, but great for making simple beat, very intuitive to use (at least to me) More than 1 minutes of sampling time, and it is easy to import WAV files from PC with memory card. It has build-in flash memory, which is VERY useful feature.

MPC-2000XL - It was pretty bad condition when I got it, replaced the rotary encoder and most of tact switch, and the drum pad was worn out and sticky. Some how I fixed it, and I installed IDE CF reader.
To me, XL is a bit cranky (I guess because mine was in a bad shape initially), but it is not that hard to repair, because inside XL, there are fairly a lot of room, and parts on the PCB board are not small like today's electric devices.
I like XL (sounds great), but I like ES-1 too. They both have different strength.

(Not sampler, but Rhodes Mark V is my recent purchase - it was very expansive purchase for me. I've always wanted to have Rhodes. I've been practicing & learning keyboard, and how to fix & adjust Rhodes since.)

Other samplers & sequencer that I want to try out (or own):
Yamaha RM1x Not sampler, but I heard it's a great sequencer, and ROM based sound module.
E-mu SP-1200 I wish I could afford it...
Ensoniq EPS-16+ (or ASR-10, which is more expensive) I saw some demos of EPS16+ on YouTube, and I was impressed with some of the features & functions.
