As much as I like this thing, the minute you throw 3rd party stuff at it, it becomes such an insane pain to use it's crazy.

I have 4 kontakt libraries that are 3rd party. When I add them to Kontakt, everything is just fine. Then I go to add them to Maschine, and they go all voer the place.

Vir2 Acoustic and Electric seemed to organize just fine. Under Browse>Instruments (User), they show up with all the patches just fine.

8dio 1969 Steinway just added itself to the Kontakt group, along with the other 1700 patches in there. Easy enough to find through tagging, but is there a reason I can' t get it or CinePercAux (my 4th library) don't show up in their own sections under User?

Is there a way to control this? I read the whole "save your own patches" so they'll seperate themselves out thing, but everything just goes to the Kontakt or Kontakt 5 group (also, having a Kontakt and a Kontakt 5 group is just inane)

Is there some sort of trick n' tips page for organizing this thing by any chance?

Yeah, I ended up untinstalling maschine and all the libraries and kontakt, and then doing maschine, then kontakt, then the libraries and that seems to have fixed most of it. That 8dio library is determined to stay lost in the kontakt folder, but it's not too big a deal.

Good to know.. I"m looking to grab some 8dio stuff next. Check out producerschoicedotcom, they got a dope 808 kit called 808 Warfare.. The best 808 kit I've ever heard in my life. Believe me, I've heard and had them all. Definitely a must have and worth the bread.

Man, I had to reinstall win8 (!) AND the maschine software for an idiot buddy of mine who got it because other people had it, even though he doesn't know how to use a computer,
and that is a bullheaded family of software.

I had to install everything in a certain order like 50 times to get it to see the libraries, and you could only put certain things were it wants you to put them in various places around the computer or it wont co-operate. And then the registry is all screwed so you have to start all over from scratch.

As far as I can tell its ace stuff if you just do everything the way NI wants you to do it with NI products.

Fencing everything in just the way they want you to use it is the new industry standard method of software design these days.
It all started with Apple IMO.
