s3000 users. cd sample issue

Everytime I try to sample something from cd I got distortion even with the rec knob @ min. Im using analog out bit digital.

Why do i got dist? With vinyls it's ok.

Are you using a DJ mixer? with the PHONO pre amp switched on?

no. Cd player analog out --> 3000 analog in

jambo, turn the gain on the s3000 to low man.

I got distortion even with the Rec gain low.

The 950 doesnt do that

damaged cables?

damaged cd player? try recording it into your computer, if you get distortion there too then your cd player is the problem.

damaged sampler? are you sure that you can still sample from other sources without getting distortion?

weird electrical things like ground loops, non ground referenced signals.? check your earth. to many routes to earth can be as bad as too few.

if you can sample from vinyl ok but not from cd then perhaps the universe is trying to tell you something.
