Starting a thread here in hope that we may possibly get a STICKY somewhere for VIP Users.

(I am aware that it is not technically an MPC, but it we will probably learn exponentially more here than the piss-poor official Akai forums)

So, that being said... How you guys liking these things? My 61-key model is getting work because I needed a new MIDI controller in general. Of course, since it is an Akai product, there are hiccups and bugs in VIP and have given some users headaches. Nothing too far out of the ordinary.

I have successfully gotten some nice sounds out of it and try to flex VIP to its limits. I'm trying to work preset mapping into my workflow so I can organize presets and VSTs.

Now my hurdle is controlling VSTs with the knobs. If the plug-in has a mapping, in most cases you are GOLDEN. 3rd-party VSTs on the other hand, you have to use the learn feature to assign controls to knobs. Akai had ZERO documentation about it that I currently know about.

I plan on posting the Akai how-to videos a bit later today. (no YT at work)

I was interested in this line but don't have enough plugin instruments to make it worthwhile. It'd also be futile trying to map out a beast like Omnisphere!

I ended up going for the Komplete Kontrol S49 in the end, which works really well with Komplete Ultimate. 8)

Hopefully they'll bundle all of these with the next MPC.

Apparently, VIP has received an update over night to version 1.1. Attempting to source the PDF changelog right now...(damn firewall restrictions at the gig)
