Just got back from the music store and got my hands on the Roland JD-XA synth for an hour or so. This thing is absolutely bananas.

That is all.

I prefer the jd-xi and I am about to buy one in September. Roland did very well with these two.
Many are complaining about the lack of pattern sequencing on the JD-xa but I am sure it would cannibalize the Fantom range.
The Sonic State reviews were awesome for both keyboards.

I for one am really happy about the small form factor of the xi.

Cheers,
Ian

The Xi looks alright, but the 8 voices thing takes the Xa into some Vangelis/CS80 territory. A homie commented "so this is the unit they're using to score Blade Runner 2 with".

This would be more appropriate for the Blade Runner 2 soundtrack. :smoker:

Actually the Roland has many of the same features at what I'm sure will be a fraction of the cost of the 008. Modal does make sick gear, but that $5K+ price tag isn't so attractive. It's nice to dream big though! :smoker:

I've had my eye on the JD-XA for a minute. Been meaning to try one out sometime. Roland did well designing this synth, and I really gotta have it.
