Akai S3000 and Mesa

Doe's Mesa work with the S3000?
All I can find is info on Mesa with the S3000xl.
There is a Apple Mac G5 going cheep and I'm considering buying it instead of a zip, jazz or M.O drive as it will probably cost about the same price.
Anyone have any advice?

Wow Mesa... haven't used that in like 15 years.

To my knowledge it's only compatible with the XL series or later, including the S2000, which was what I used it with. I think you can still find the manual for it online, might be more help.

I think ZIP or MO is the way forward for you, unfortunately. Heck I'd recommend it either way, I remember Mesa being a huge PITA.
