Howdy, y'all
This is actually for my S2000, but I haven't been able to find an active sampler forum, so I figured it couldn't hurt to ask here. So, first off, any tips on finding an active S2000 forum?
I'm thinking that there might be no problem at all with the IB-208P card that I bought, and maybe someone could help me figure out what's going on, and what I should do.
So, I got a IB-208P ,from Ebay, without the mounting bracket, and I will be making a mounting bracket this week. I plugged it in to test it, and came across osmething a bit weird. The individual outputs aren't as loud as the stock stereo outs.
For example; I plug L(MONO) from the S2000 main outs into mixer channel 1, and pan mixer channel 1 hard left. Plug an individual out (1-8, happens with all of them) to mixer channel 2, and pan it hard right. Channel 1 and 2 gain are equal.
Now I go into the SINE sample, that's on the OS disk, group down to the OUT group, and see that on the main out, level is set to 99. Now I go down one, and set the sample to play through individual out 1, and set the level to 99 (default is 50)
When I play the sample, and look at my mixer 2bus, Left is hitting deep orange, and right is barely making any green. This is with the 'Main Volume" knob cranked. If I mute each channel on the mixer, and listen, you hear a drastic difference in level. On the mains, it's decent listening volume, and the individual is so quiet, you could miss it with the TV on.
This is my first hardware sampler, and while I'm not a complete noob, I think I may just be misunderstanding hoe it's supposed to work. I have a feeling that I should be adjusting levels inside the S2000 more, and that everything is fine. When poking around a bit, I found an option to boost the outs -18,-12,-6,0,+6,+12+18 . Something there?
Once the mounting plate is done, I'll do more testing, and see if there's any noise when I boost the individual outs at the mixer. I didn't want to mess around too much with the card not mounted properly.
