does anybody have experience with the Aira TR8? I see that now a 707 & 727 expansion is added to go with the 808 and 909s. A total of 4 TR's now.

Anyhow, as the TR8 makes no mention as far as I could tell, is it possible to have the MPC 1000 MIDI record/sequence the TR8 kick drum on MPC track 1, TR8 snare on MPC track 2 and so on?

That way, one could do 16 level velocity, 1/32 hats and snare rolls, etc.

BTW, I wonder if you could have a 707 kick with 808 hats, or do the sounds all have to be playing from a certain machine's kit?

Via midi, yes you could use the TR-8 as a sound module. There are 2 (soft/hard) "velocity" levels on the TR8 itself you know... I don't think the midi mapping on the TR8 s "standard," but you could program thru the MPC like you asked.
