I find the poly D to be un-authentic. The same with akai's "mini d" plugin. The original model D is not polyphonic... it's meant to be a mono synth. The polyphony subtracts from the actual sound. With the modern polyphonic d's you can end up with ugly resonant tones and ugly phase cancellation. it sounds like shit... also they are subject to "drift", and have a warm-up period before the respond in a happy manner. Moog, oberheim etc of yester year are literally running on fumes.
