I've been highly considering swooping up an RD-8 (and an RD-9 too when it comes out).
But, I just wanna use the RD-8 as a sound-module, triggered/slaved/sequenced-from my MPC60-master-sequencer via MIDI.
Any bugs or undesired-quirks (dropped notes, lag, etc.) when using the RD-8 triggered from a different master-sequencer/MPC; RD-8 as an external sound-module?
(or, are there only bugs/problems when trying to slave and/or sync the RD-8's internal-sequencer to another master-sequencer?)
Also, when externally triggered, is there Velocity? Or, is it always just full 100% volume/On when triggered? Any Accents possible from MPC60?
I’ve heard that (dunno if totally true though):
DIN MIDI is okay, perfectly fine, no dropped notes, no issues.
USB MIDI is buggy, dropped notes, lag. (DAW, etc… which I don’t use anyways, as my main-sequencer/centerpiece is an MPC60 and all my external modules/synths/racks/samplers/fx are from the 80s & 90s. I've always been using only DIN cables).
I haven't touched my machines since 2016/2017. But, all these Behringer clones are attracting me and may make me get back into music again.
I've always wanted an 808, a 909 (I actually had a 909 for a very brief time) and also an SP1200 (via Isla 2400).
